Science as a Human Endeavour
Through science, humans seek to improve their understanding and explanations of the natural world. Science involves the construction of explanations based on evidence and science knowledge can be changed as new evidence becomes available.

Research your favourite scientist then make yourself a Science as a Human Endeavour e- book
Read a story written and illustrated collaboratively by year four students at Rostrata Primary School and brilliantly guided by their teacher Mrs Bernadine Blechynden. It's about two Western Australian scientists, Professor Barry Marshall and Professor Robin Warren. They invented a medication for stomach ulcers, saving billions of lives. Their story is remarkable and so they won The Nobel Prize for Medicine 2005.

Bottle Rescue in Chile "Installing bottle lights for a rural family"
Using simple scientific ideas to solve problems! How does it work? The bleach keeps the water from turning green, and the water refracts sunlight. Statistics say 1.6 billion people ― a quarter of the global population ― live without electricity. This luminous eco idea can bring a smile to them like Miguel did to the family in the Andes. |
